The game’s soundtrack, now available to order on CD exclusively from www.music4games.net/freedomfighters.html, is composed by Kyd and features a rousing choral performance by the Hungarian Radio Choir. European novelist Gaelle Obiegly wrote the Russian lyrics for all the choir tracks. The score was mixed and edited at Kyd’s Manhattan studio, Nano Studios NYC. "The Hungarian Radio Choir is simply fantastic", said Kyd, who previously recorded with the Budapest Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir for Hitman: Silent Assassin 2, "We have combined this powerful live choir with techno beats and other electronic instruments for a very unique sounding score". In Freedom Fighters, the game’s protagonist is an American civilian, who becomes a freedom fighter, forced to action by an invasion of the United States. "The game is about Manhattan being invaded by an enemy army and so the score is quite emotional", Kyd added. A veteran of composing music for computer and video games, Kyd’s roots go back to the Commodore 64 scene in 1985-1988 and he was a major force in the European Amiga demo scene from 1988-1993. When his colleagues started IO Interactive (Freedom Fighters, Hitman series), Kyd built Nano Studios NYC and launched Jesper Kyd Productions, a full service music production company providing innovative and premier quality music scoring for cinematic game soundtracks. Kyd’s ongoing collaboration with IO Interactive is presented in the best-selling Hitman game franchise, the latest of which, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (PS2/Xbox/GC/PC) received universal critical acclaim for its distinct and immersive soundtrack, including award nominations from IGN, GameSpot, GameSpy, and other industry accolades. Jesper Kyd’s music has enhanced best-selling titles for Activision,
BioWare, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Konami, Microsoft, Sega, Shiny and Treyarch.
His music for games has also been featured in promotional videos on G4TV,
MTV, TNN, The SciFi Channel, USA Network and VH1. He currently lives
and works in New York and is represented by Bob Rice of Four Bars Intertainment. Audio clips of Jesper Kyd’s music from the game now
